pure-FTPd 英文乱码

本人在Ubuntu10.04英文版上安装了LNMP自带的pure-FTPd. 功能上没有任何问题。问题的不足是在windows里，不光中文是乱码，有写英文也是乱码。

windows也是英文版的。

而且无论在pure-ftpd.conf里面怎么设置 filesystemcharset 或clientcharset，最后restart pure-ftpd的时候都显示：

/usr/local/pureftpd/sbin/pure-ftpd: invalid option -- '8'
/usr/local/pureftpd/sbin/pure-ftpd: invalid option -- '9'

还真没有找到，不仅是我们论坛没有，国外论坛也没有。所有解决中文乱码的方法都不行。。。。。
最后自己搞定了。

原因：1.pure-FTPd在compile的时候是 with-language=simplified-chinese.而我的所有系统都是英文的。
2. 无法设置filesystemcharset 和clientcharset的原因是在compile的时候未加入--with-rfc2640。没有这个是无法支持字体转换的。
solution: 在 pureftpd.sh里面make和install之前那个.congifure后面加上--with-language=english, --with-rfc2640。

弄了一晚上，真累。

what if I use Windows Explorer to browse the FTP?
I mean there is no way to select the character encoding in the Explorer.
